Both suspecting your child has a specific learning difficulty and/or disability, or already having obtained a diagnosis, are very difficult for you as their parent/carer and perhaps the child themselves.
You can feel very isolated and not know who to turn to for advice and support. However, we are keen to sign post parents to support and services that they can access to try and ease this process. There’s nothing like a cuppa and a biscuit (or three!) with people who are in a similar situation to help you feel less like you’re on your own with this journey.
On our website you will find a page of useful websites outlining various groups and charities that can provide you with information and support. If you belong to, have heard of or run any local groups that you think would be of use to other parents, then please do get in touch so that we can publicise them. Alternatively, if you are an adult going through this process yourself, you may also find some of this information helpful.
